This policy will be communicated to all MCT employees and stakeholders. Compliance with this policy is the responsibility of every employee.

 


Health and Safety Policy Statement

The management of Mechanical Components of Tennessee is committed to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment, prevention of occupational injury and illness, and controlling our impact on the natural environment. This commitment will be ranked equally with other organizational goals. Our management recognizes and accepts overall responsibility for the occupational health and safety of its employees, visitors and contractors.

In fulfilling this objective, we will comply with acceptable industry practices and with pertinent legislative requirements. In addition, we will strive to eliminate any foreseeable hazards that may result in fire, security losses and damage to property; and we will take all reasonable precautions to prevent industrial illness and injury.
 
All employees, including senior management, managers, supervisors, forepersons and workers will receive training in their respective health and safety responsibilities, and will be individually accountable for fulfilling those responsibilities. Contractors and sub-contractors are also responsible for complying with this policy and MCT’s Health and Safety Program in all respects.
 
In accordance with this policy and the Occupational Health and Safety Act, all employees are responsible for reporting all accidents, and unsafe and unhealthy conditions of which they are aware in accordance with the internal responsibility system. Appropriate action will be taken against any person who engages in an unsafe act or who fails to comply with established safe work practices, procedures, or this policy.
 
Health And Safety performance will be an important criterion in evaluating job performance, progression and promotion.
